"Spring," an original, Oil on Panel painting by me, artist, Quin Sweetman.
I painted this painting in plein air (on site/from life) at Sauvie Island, outside of Portland, in the spirit of the Impressionists. I also call it "woman tree" because it was painted over a portrait of a woman and part of that warm underpainting is incorporated into the new landscape painting. I feel that life is full of beautiful moments and I strive to capture the vibrancy of those experiences on canvas. In my plein air, life drawing and studio compositions, I work to convey the unique energy of a subject, whether it be human, landscape or building or action.
